For Unity studios and developers

Your Unity project, minus the engine.

Your C# systems, scenes, shaders and tools could have value for AI training. We separate your work from Unity’s before anything is offered.

A SIMPLE HELLOAbout 20 seconds

Where can we say g’day?

Leave your name and email and we’ll get in touch. You can tell us about your project next, if you like.

Goodwattle buys and licenses original game code and development materials. Unity projects need extra care: Unity’s terms changed in July 2026, and engine, package and Asset Store material is never part of what we offer.

Read this first

What the July 2026 Unity terms mean.

Unity updated its terms in July 2026, and our reading is that the update restricts using Unity-derived data for AI training. Your own original code and assets are still yours, but anything that comes from Unity itself, such as the editor, engine runtime, official packages and engine-generated data, has to stay out.

That’s why every Unity project goes through engine-asset exclusion before it is offered to a buyer. If a use is unclear under the current terms, we leave it out or suggest you get advice. This is general information, not legal advice, and we check the current terms on every project.

Engine-asset exclusion

What we remove from every Unity project.

  • The Unity editor, engine runtime and official Unity packages
  • Asset Store purchases and other third-party packages
  • Library, build and cache folders the editor generates
  • Anything a publisher, platform or client agreement prevents you offering
  • Personal information in analytics, save files or crash logs

What we look for

Your work, clearly yours.

01

Original C# systems

Gameplay logic, AI, tools, editor extensions and shaders your team wrote.

02

History and context

Git, Plastic SCM or Unity Version Control history, plus design docs and tickets.

03

Clear ownership

Employee and contractor work assigned to the studio, and any publisher rights understood.

What it could pay

Honest ranges, not promises.

Smaller game projects can range from A$200 to A$10,000. Substantial studio-owned projects can be worth A$60,000 or more. Value depends on scope, quality, history, rights and what buyers need at the time. Every project is appraised individually; this is not a guaranteed offer.

  1. 1

    Say g’day

Leave your name, email and an optional phone number. We save your enquiry straight away; project details and a small sample can follow if you like.

  2. 2

    Explore the fit

A real person reviews your overview. We discuss the opportunity and arrange confidentiality before a detailed review.

  3. 3

    Consider an offer

If there’s a fit, we put the scope, rights, intended uses and payment in writing. You decide whether to proceed.

A purchase. A licence. A possibility.

A purchase can transfer agreed rights. A licence can let you keep ownership while permitting specific uses, including AI research, training or evaluation. We can discuss a fixed payment, revenue share or ongoing arrangement where suitable. Nothing is sold or licensed by sending an enquiry.

A LITTLE CLARITY

Good questions.
Honest answers.

Your work. Your next chapter.
Let’s make the possibilities clear.

How much can I get paid?

Smaller projects can range from A$200 to A$10,000. Substantial company-owned codebases can be worth A$60,000 or more. Value depends on complexity, quality, contents, rights and fit. Every project is evaluated individually; these figures are possibilities, not guaranteed offers.

Can I sell a Unity project at all?

You can offer your own original work. Unity’s engine, packages and Asset Store content are excluded, and we check the current Unity terms against your project before anything is offered.

Do you need the whole Unity project folder?

Not to start. A non-confidential overview is enough. If we go further, we agree which folders are in scope and remove engine and third-party material.

We used Unity Version Control. Is that OK?

Yes. History in Unity Version Control (Plastic SCM), Perforce or git is all useful. We agree an export format with you.
