For founders, ISVs and agencies
Private code, real reviews, a new kind of buyer.
AI training buyers want professionally built software with its history intact. If your company owns some, it could be worth a conversation.
Goodwattle buys and licenses codebases, project archives and workspace data from software businesses across Australia and New Zealand, and supplies them, verified, to the vendors that build AI training data.

Who this is for
Made it? Own it? Let’s talk.

- Software vendors with retired or legacy products
- Agencies and consultancies with work they own outright
- Founders winding down a company
- Developers with substantial side projects
You don’t need anything confidential to start. A short description is plenty.

Rights first
Rights notes for software.
We only offer what is genuinely yours to offer. These are the questions that come up most.
- Employees: in Australia and New Zealand, code written in the course of employment generally belongs to the employer. Check any agreements that say otherwise.
- Contractors: they often own what they wrote unless a contract assigns it. Find those contracts before you offer the code.
- Client work: code written for clients usually belongs to them or is licensed back. Agencies can only offer what they own or have permission to license.
- Open-source and vendored code: dependencies and copied code are identified and excluded.
- Customer data is never part of a codebase sale or licence. Tell us if any of the code has been licensed for AI use before.
