For the people who made the game

Sell your old game. Give it another life.

Sell or license an old game you built. Give yesterday’s work a new possibility.

From a shipped indie game to a retired mobile title, Goodwattle reviews game code and development materials you own. You don’t need to relaunch it to start a conversation.

Good work has more to give

The store listing isn’t the whole story.

Your systems, tools and development decisions are part of what you made. We look beyond whether the game is still selling.

01

The game you shipped

A completed indie, mobile or desktop game can be a starting point, even if active development has ended.

02

The work behind the play

Game logic, original tools, documentation and development history help tell the story of the project.

03

Terms that fit your next move

We can explore a purchase or a licence for selected materials. Keeping your game on sale may be possible under agreed licensing terms.

A good place to start

Sounds like
your kind of work?

Tell us the engine, where the game got to, and whether you still have its source project.

  • A game you or your studio made
  • Access to the project’s source and development materials
  • Clarity about publisher, collaborator and asset rights

A description is plenty for the first step. Please leave out private code, passwords and personal data.

Tell us what you’ve got

A little look. A clear next step.

From old work
to a new conversation.

  1. 1

    Tell us about it

A short appraisal covers your project and how to reach you. A link or small, non-confidential sample is optional.

  2. 2

    Explore the fit

A real person reviews your overview. We discuss the opportunity and arrange confidentiality before a detailed review.

  3. 3

    Consider an offer

If there’s a fit, we put the scope, rights, intended uses and payment in writing. You decide whether to proceed.

A purchase. A licence. A possibility.

A purchase can transfer agreed rights. A licence can let you keep ownership while permitting specific uses, including AI research, training or evaluation. We can discuss a fixed payment, revenue share or ongoing arrangement where suitable. Nothing is sold or licensed by sending an enquiry.

Before you say g’day

Good questions.

A little clarity
goes a long way.

Do you buy second-hand discs, keys or game accounts?

No. This is for people and studios who made a game and can offer rights to its code or development materials. We do not buy retail game copies, keys or player accounts.

Can the game stay on Steam, itch.io or an app store?

Potentially. A scoped licence can allow you to retain ownership and continue distribution. Any restrictions or retained rights must be agreed in writing; they depend on the arrangement.

What if a publisher or other team members were involved?

Let us know at the start. We need to understand who controls the relevant rights before an offer or handover can proceed.

What happens after I enquire?

We review your overview and follow up by email. If there is a fit, we discuss confidentiality and any detailed review, then propose the materials, rights, permitted uses and payment in writing. An enquiry is not a commitment to sell or license.

How much could my work be worth?

It depends on the quality, scope, rights and fit of the materials. This is a personal review, not an instant valuation. Not every project receives an offer, and any amount and payment timing are agreed in writing.

What will the materials be used for?

Agreed uses can include AI research, training and evaluation. The agreement sets out the permitted uses and any further licensing before handover. Your initial enquiry does not grant a licence.
