For studios planning what comes next

Your next opportunity might already be built.

Explore a new source of revenue from the work your studio already owns.

Your back catalogue, internal tools and project history may have uses beyond their original release. Goodwattle helps you explore purchases and licences for selected materials, starting with one suitable project.

Good work has more to give

Look back before you build something new.

This starts with existing work, a clear technical owner and a practical discussion about what your studio can offer.

01

Start with one project

Choose a completed title, dormant prototype or internal tool that is straightforward for your team to explain.

02

Fit around your priorities

Discuss what a review and handover would involve before committing production time or sharing detailed materials.

03

Consider the commercial shape

Explore a fixed payment, a share of licensing revenue or an ongoing relationship where suitable.

A good place to start

Sounds like
your kind of work?

Tell us about one candidate project and what a useful outcome would look like for your studio.

  • A studio with original games, tools or software
  • A project owner who understands the materials
  • An interest in selected asset sales or licensing

A description is plenty for the first step. Please leave out private code, passwords and personal data.

Tell us what you’ve got

A little look. A clear next step.

From old work
to a new conversation.

  1. 1

    Tell us about it

A short appraisal covers your project and how to reach you. A link or small, non-confidential sample is optional.

  2. 2

    Explore the fit

A real person reviews your overview. We discuss the opportunity and arrange confidentiality before a detailed review.

  3. 3

    Consider an offer

If there’s a fit, we put the scope, rights, intended uses and payment in writing. You decide whether to proceed.

A purchase. A licence. A possibility.

A purchase can transfer agreed rights. A licence can let you keep ownership while permitting specific uses, including AI research, training or evaluation. We can discuss a fixed payment, revenue share or ongoing arrangement where suitable. Nothing is sold or licensed by sending an enquiry.

Before you say g’day

Good questions.

A little clarity
goes a long way.

Is this a studio acquisition or investment?

This enquiry is about selected codebases and development materials. It is not an application for investment or an offer to acquire your whole studio.

How much time will the team need to spend?

Start with a short overview. The review and preparation effort depends on the project; we discuss that before you commit to a detailed handover.

Can this become an ongoing partnership?

Potentially. Where there is a good fit, an initial project can lead to a discussion about further materials or ongoing work. There is no commitment to a broader arrangement at the enquiry stage.

What happens after I enquire?

We review your overview and follow up by email. If there is a fit, we discuss confidentiality and any detailed review, then propose the materials, rights, permitted uses and payment in writing. An enquiry is not a commitment to sell or license.

How much could my work be worth?

It depends on the quality, scope, rights and fit of the materials. This is a personal review, not an instant valuation. Not every project receives an offer, and any amount and payment timing are agreed in writing.

What will the materials be used for?

Agreed uses can include AI research, training and evaluation. The agreement sets out the permitted uses and any further licensing before handover. Your initial enquiry does not grant a licence.
